We are the land of the free, we are the home of the brave. Let’s pay tribute to our brave American Heroes on this special day and forever. Factoid: Who came up with the 4th of July as a holiday? On July 4th, the Continental Congress formally adopted the Declaration of Independence, which had been written largely by Thomas Jefferson. Though the vote for actual independence took place on July 2nd, from then on, the 4th became the day that was celebrated as the birth of American independence. We hope everyone has a safe and rewarding 4th of July!

As we celebrate our freedom, let us not forget to thank all those who have fought for this country to give us this day. When was the First 4th of July? On July 8, 1776, the first public readings of the Declaration were held in Philadelphia’s Independence Square to the ringing of bells and band music. One year later, on July 4, 1777, Philadelphia marked Independence Day by adjourning Congress and celebrating with bonfires, bells and fireworks. Have a glorious and safe 4th of July Holiday!

This Independence Day, take a step back and cherish your life and the country you live in while appreciating the sacrifices people made to give us independence today. Factoid: Who started the 4th of July as a holiday? The 4th of July was celebrated as our Independence Day in 1777. John Adams predicted in a letter to his wife Abigail that Americans would celebrate their Independence Day on July 2. Off by two days — not too bad for government work! We hope everyone has a safe and rewarding 4th of July!
