Did you know when airborne cottonwood blooms make their way to your condenser coils, they can create significant air restriction? If unattended, the damage will impact your air conditioning the entire summer. Blocked or clogged condenser coils decrease your air flow efficiency by 25% or more which leads to higher cooling bills. Overtime, the overtaxed compressors become damaged forcing you to make costly repairs. In addition to cottonwood, dirt also reduces your system’s efficiency because it creates a barrier between the coils and refrigerants, making it harder for the air conditioning system to eliminate heat.In Indiana, it’s not unusual to experience temperature swings. HVAC systems are especially vulnerable to hail damage. Sometimes hailstones are large enough to dent the fan motor and blades, causing them to [...]

How Can Guaranteed Lifetime Protection Help You?

Recently, during a proactive/preventive maintenance (PM) check, our technician reported issues with two aging HVAC units at a customer’s facility. Typically, the average lifespan of an HVAC unit is 10-15 years. However, with Vasey’s PM, we extended the lifespan of each unit to 20 years. Because our customer, a leading Sealing Technologies Manufacturer, had a Guaranteed Lifetime Protection (GLP) plan in place, VASEY replaced both rooftop units (before failure) at no additional cost. To replace the roof-top units we used the assistance of a very large crane for the installation of the new units. With our exclusive Guaranteed Lifetime Protection (GLP) Program, our customers pay one affordable annual fee and we assume complete responsibility for keeping equipment in tip-top shape. Through [...]

What is Hydro Jetting?

Hydro jetting. No, it’s not a slang term for water skiing. But if you’re not in the industry, it might be a new term for you. Hydro jetting – think power washing only at much higher pressures. This is a method VASEY uses to clean clogged or slow sewage lines. Jetting can remove accumulated contamination and dirt buildup on surfaces as well as blockages within pipes using high-velocity water pressure through a jet nozzle. Why Hydro Jet? Hydro Jetting cleans the accumulation of sludge, grease, mineral build-up, hair, and other debris trapped inside your drainpipes. All of which can lead to sewer clogs. Over time, it is more economical as the effects last longer than your favorite jelly-like bottle of clog remover. Wouldn’t you like [...]

Fact or Fiction?

It’s a FACT! Our technician traveled to a nearby church — the before, a draft inducer, barely held together by spittle, rust, and dirt. The draft inducer is designed specifically to ensure that combustion gases are vented properly out of the furnace to the outside. We called the manufacturer. The lead time to order and ship a new fan – a whopping EIGHT weeks!! That means, the church would be affected in the months of October through December – without proper air circulation. We all know how fickle Mother Nature can be in Indiana. We weren’t satisfied with status quo. Our solution? We built a new fan 100% from scratch and the system was up and running in a week. At VASEY, we have [...]
