Meet Monica Buckner, our Accounts Payable Supervisor at VASEY. She’s a vibrant individual with a wealth of experience both inside and outside the office. With her warm personality and dedication to her role, Monica has quickly become a valuable member of the VASEY team.
With six months under her belt at VASEY, Monica has already shown her expertise in her role as an Accounts Payable Supervisor. Her responsibilities include matching purchase orders to invoices, entering invoices into the system, and cutting the checks to ensure all payments are processed seamlessly. Although she may not have a standout memorable moment at VASEY just yet, Monica’s commitment to her work and her colleagues is evident every day.
Monica’s journey at VASEY has been exclusively in the finance department, where she’s been thriving in her role. The supportive and collaborative work environment at VASEY has been instrumental in her quick integration into the team. She describes the atmosphere as “very relaxed and easy-going,” which undoubtedly contributes to the positive energy she brings to her job.
When asked why someone should consider joining the VASEY team, Monica highlights the welcoming nature of her colleagues. “Everyone here is very nice and so very helpful,” she says, emphasizing the friendly and supportive atmosphere that makes VASEY a great place to work. New team members can expect proper training from day one and continuous guidance to help them grow and succeed.
Outside of her professional life, Monica is all about family and friends. She’s been married to her husband, Tim, for almost 27 years. Her daughter Payton is married and is a Radiologist at Riley Children’s Hospital. Payton blessed Monica and Tim with their first grandchild in March 2023. Their son, Nolan, is a senior and currently pursuing a degree in Sports Management at the University of Southern Indiana. Monica’s home is also shared with two lovable dogs, Bo (Aussiedoodle) and Aspen (Aussie), and Mona (a delightful calico cat).
In her leisure time, Monica has variety of interests, including savoring Italian cuisine, cheering on her favorite football and baseball teams, and indulging in the simple pleasure of relaxation. Her taste in movies spans genres, with “Remember the Titans” ranking among her favorites. When it comes to music, Monica’s eclectic taste knows no bounds, and she finds enjoyment in all kinds of melodies.
One might be surprised to learn that Monica’s high school days were marked by her involvement as a cheerleader. Her cheerleading journey took her to unexpected heights when she was selected among the top 15 performers at a cheer camp at Ball State University. This honor granted her the incredible opportunity to travel to London, England, and participate in the Lord Mayor’s New Year’s Day parade, a memory she cherishes to this day.
Monica’s journey from her roots in Sheridan, Indiana, to her role at VASEY highlights her dedication to her work and her love for her family. Her warmth and friendliness are a true asset to the VASEY team, and she continues to make her mark in both her professional and personal life, leaving a lasting impression on all who have the privilege of knowing her.
