We are the land of the free, we are the home of the brave. Let’s pay tribute to our brave American Heroes on this special day and forever. Factoid: Who came up with the 4th of July as a holiday? On July 4th, the Continental Congress formally adopted the Declaration of Independence, which had been written largely by Thomas Jefferson. Though the vote for actual independence took place on July 2nd, from then on, the 4th became the day that was celebrated as the birth of American independence. We hope everyone has a safe and rewarding 4th of July!

Get Ready! New DOE Efficiency Regulations

The Department of Energy (DOE) in response to the climate crisis has increased the minimum Annual Fuel Utilization Efficiency (AFUE) standard from 80% to 90% for all new heating and cooling units to move America closer to net-zero carbon emissions by 2050.1 For example, a high-efficiency gas furnace with an AFUE of 97 percent creates 97 BTUs of heat with every 100 BTUs of gas it uses. The rest is typically lost to the outdoors and flue emissions. A higher AFUE means greater efficiency. The DOE sets the minimum efficiency standards for ALL heating and cooling equipment manufacturers. Currently, it is 80 percent. Effective January 1, 2023, the new minimum efficiency will be 90 percent. What does that mean to you? Typically, the more efficient [...]

What You Need to Know About Springtime Hazards and System Maintenance

Did you know when airborne cottonwood blooms make their way to your condenser coils, they can create significant air restriction? If unattended, the damage will impact your air conditioning the entire summer. Blocked or clogged condenser coils decrease your air flow efficiency by 25% or more which leads to higher cooling bills. Overtime, the overtaxed compressors become damaged forcing you to make costly repairs. In addition to cottonwood, dirt also reduces your system’s efficiency because it creates a barrier between the coils and refrigerants, making it harder for the air conditioning system to eliminate heat.In Indiana, it’s not unusual to experience temperature swings. HVAC systems are especially vulnerable to hail damage. Sometimes hailstones are large enough to dent the fan motor and blades, causing them to [...]

This year's awards banquet was held at the 502 East Event Centre, in Carmel, Indiana on Saturday March 12. Team members and their significant others were treated to an evening of fun, food, and celebration. Usually, we celebrate awards annually; however, with COVID that tradition was suspended in 2020 and 2021. As a result, everyone was excited to celebrate past and present award recipients. The evening’s theme, “Back to the ‘80s” was reflected in the music, a photo booth, and decorations. Sales Team Diamond Award Winners Larry Pennycuff (2021) Rob Zellers (2020) Bill Newton (2020) Service Award Winners Five Years of Service DJ Harrison Jimmy Sexton Andy Hughes Alex Clemens Clay Runshe Lilli Hernandez Jake [...]

By |2024-01-14T08:45:51-05:00January 19th, 2022|Categories: Community Service|Tags: , , , , , |

Recently, members of the VASEY team helped at the Zionsville Food Pantry Distribution Center (housed by the Zionsville Presbyterian Church at 4775 W. 116th Street) to help unload pallets of food items. Zionsville Presbyterian Church manages and operates the Zionsville Food Pantry – one of the few food pantries available in Boone County. The Zionsville Food Pantry is managed and organized by volunteers, feeding well over a hundred families every week. In addition to food drives and donations, the Zionsville Food Pantry gets much of their food from the Gleaners Food Bank of Indiana. Gleaners supplies items to hunger relief agencies like the Zionsville Food Pantry and schools throughout 21 counties in central and southeastern Indiana. Gleaners estimates that 1 in 7 Hoosiers are hungry [...]
